NPTI publishes Schematic Diagram's book with more than 60 schemes, Schematic diagrams are similar to circuit diagrams of any electronic circuit.Scheme Tracing is Process of tracing:
Pipes,
Pumps,
Meters,
Valves,
Steam Paths,
Machines and Controllers etc.
This is a thing unique to NPTI, and is unknown to other Engineering Students, Our students do Scheme Tracing in starting of third year in NTPC badarpur power plant. This gives them a cutting edge over all other engineering students After this  they are totaly aware of location and works of all the equipments of any unit of power plant.

Along with this there are regular plants visits to:
NTPC Badarpur:       Thermal
NTPC Faridabad:      Gas-combined cycle
PPCL~ IPGCL           Gas-combined cycle
and many other plants.
We also have Rotational On Job Trainings in fourth year in which our students get a chance to work with power plant professionals.
